Charging Your C-Core™
Charging Your C-Core™
The Cooling Core (C-Core) is designed for literally thousands of uses. Here's how to get the best out of it:
- For maximum performance: Place your C-Core™ in the freezer (minimum 7 hours) before use.
- For a full beach day: The fridge overnight works perfectly for most conditions.
- In a pinch: Submerge the C-Core in an ice bucket with cold water for 4–6 hours.
- Slide the charged C-Core™ into your DayPod and you’re good to go.
During Use
During Use
DayPod is highly engineered but to maximise performance, follow these steps:
- Keep DayPod in the shade wherever possible - direct sunlight reduces performance. It's working hard enough already!
- Close the drawstring and zip fully before applying sunscreen - keeping the collar and cuff sealed maximises thermal retention.
- Don’t place DayPod on hot sand - sand in direct sun can reach 70+°C, creating intense thermal pressure on the base and rapidly reducing performance.
- Avoid leaving DayPod in a hot car - enclosed vehicles can reach extreme temperatures that will exhaust your C-Core™ prematurely.
Filling Your DayPod
Filling Your DayPod
DayPod was engineered to fit what you need most
- The main compartment fits most standard sunscreen bottles (up to 250ml).
- The PhoneCool™ zip pocket is designed for your phone - it fits up to two phones comfortably, keeping them safe, accessible, and out of the heat.
- Don’t overfill the main compartment - a snug fit helps the C-Core™ maintain contact and work efficiently.
Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Caring for and cleaning your DayPod will keep it performing for years.
- Spot clean only with warm water and a mild soap or gentle detergent.
- Do not machine wash — this will damage the special coating and thermal lining.
- Do not tumble dry, iron, or dry clean.
- Air dry naturally, away from direct heat sources.
- Store your DayPod in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Water Resistance
Water Resistance
DayPod is water resistant, not waterproof.
- It will handle splashes, spray, and light rain without issue.
- Do not submerge in water - pool or sea immersion will compromise the DayPod and cause damage.
C-Core™ Care
C-Core™ Care
C-Core™ pouches are sealed and safe - but treat them with care.
- Do not pierce, cut, or compress the pouches forcefully.
- If a pouch is damaged, discontinue use and contact us at info@coolfactor.co.uk.
- You may experience fraying at the edges of the C-Core, this is normal over time and will not affect use.
- The C-Core™ can be recharged thousands of times with no loss in performance.
A Note on Performance
DayPod is engineered to keep your sunscreen in the Goldilocks Zone of 15–25°C for up to 10 hours (fridge charged) or 12 hours (freezer charged) in shaded holiday conditions. Performance will vary in extreme heat or direct sun exposure — keeping DayPod in shade is the single biggest thing you can do to extend its performance window.
