The Science Behind DayPod™

What Is the Goldilocks Zone™?

The Goldilocks Zone™ is the optimal temperature range — between 15°C and 25°C — where sunscreen remains stable, effective, and safe to use.

What Happens Above 25°C

Above 25°C, active UV filters begin to degrade. Published research, including the JAAD 2012 study, shows SPF performance can drop by up to 50% when exposed to elevated temperatures.

The Broken Shield Effect™

Below 15°C, sunscreen emulsions can separate. This leads to uneven application and patchy protection, allowing UV rays to pass through. Studies show up to a 41% reduction in UVA protection.

Why Cool Bags Make It Worse

Traditional cool bags with ice packs often overcool sunscreen below safe levels. This creates temperature cycling —switching between too cold and too hot —reducing effectiveness.

How C-Core™ Solves It

C-Core™ uses a plant-based phase change material derived from vegetable fats. It passively maintains the Goldilocks Zone™ without overcooling or overheating.

Independent Lab Results

Independent UKAS-certified lab testing confirms DayPod™ maintains optimal temperature for up to 11 hours at 38°C ambient conditions, with simulated reapplication every 2 hours.
